Well, what can we say? The lovely newlyweds Peter and Lucy had a wonderful wedding at The Ridings Barn at Theobalds Park and it was a honour to be invited along to film for them. For us it all started with a meeting them at their home nearly a year before the big day; after which it was clear that their wedding day was going to be a perfect family occasion. Peter had family coming over from Cyprus too; so this made the occasion even more special. Having all your loved ones under one roof at the same time really is a perfect setting for anytime.
The filming for us started in the morning at the brides parents home in Welwyn Garden City. We were joined by the talented photographer Neal Houghton who was capturing the stills for the day too. Neal is a great person to have at a wedding. His talent as a photographer and calm (yet fun) manner will always ensure a great day. The preparation shots were a pleasure and it was a very jolly and fun morning. Before long the guests were arriving at the ceremony venue and the day started to unfold.
The father of the bride ‘Billy’ is no stranger to cameras. This is because you will recognise him from the BBC series DIY SOS. We had noticed him adding parts to his speech during the morning preparations in his garden. The finishing performance of his speech was a mixture of funny, emotional and sincerity. It was for this reason the highlights film has some parts of his speech edited in for good measure!
Its been a real pleasure capturing the day for Peter and Lucy. We wish them all the very best in their married lives and hope that they enjoy this next journey together!x
