A day of love at St Michaels Manor for Paula & Robert

For us, wedding days are fun, memorable, emotional, different to the norm and thats just some ways to describe them. However, Paula & Rob’s day truly lived up to that and was a day we will always remember.

These two lovely people made us feel welcome from the very start; after meeting with them at the studio here in Aston Village, Hertfordshire. It was over a cup of tea and after a busy day too, we sat down with the newlyweds and instantly knew these guys were not just lovely people, but people who really were so very excited to be married and have their day remembered on film. For a event film maker, this is huge and we love capturing the memories!

The wedding was held in Watford for a traditional and very musical Catholic ceremony and then it was off to St Michaels Manor Hotel in St Albans for the reception and party. The day was beautiful. The guests brought along love and laughter to the atomosphere and with the newlyweds as in love with each other as with their special day, it was a film makers dream! We felt like guests ourselves too!

The team at St Michaels Manor were amazing and as always so friendly and professional. We are proud to be recommended by them too.

A highlight for us was going along with the Paula and Rob for their couple photograph session. This moment is always fun, but these two were just a joy to film and to be around. Even when the light rain came along, they were kissing and having fun! smile

Entertained by the very well known Mr H Productions who provided the disco and live music/singer; the party was electric and was the perfect end to what is the start of a new chapter for Paula and Rob.

We wish them all the best in health, wealth and happiness for their future and thank them again for inviting us to capture their very special occasion!xx

April time dream wedding for Kirsty & Jon

Kirsty and Jon arranged a beautiful wedding and it truly was a day of Family, love, emotion, alittle rain and laughter. April weddings are always a dream and the new beginnings of Spring certainly fit well for a good start of a marriage.

The backdrop, or film set, for the day was in Berkshire; with a traditional church in Ascot for the ceremony and then to the Royal Berkshire Hotel for the reception. The staff were so friendly and very professional, it truely was great fun to be back filming at this marvellous venue.

A highlight for us was certainly joining the newlyweds for their photo session and capturing some funloving candid moments of them around the splendid grounds of the hotel. We just about avoided the April showers too which was good! smile

We wish Kirsty and Jon love, health and of course a true happiness in their married lives together and hope that their wedding film is something themselves and their loved ones go back to time and time again to remember that special occasion!x

Clare & Barry say 'I do' at the Hitchin Priory

We love these two! Clare and Barry (known to his friends as BJ) are such fun loving, vibrant, real and friendly people to be around. This made, capturing their wedding day so much more fun and a great memory for us too, it really did feel like we had known them for years.

The newlyweds were recommended to SOVP by their amazing photographer and friend of ours Marie Wootton of Marie Wootton Photography. After a nice meeting over a cuppa at the studio and discussing the wedding plans; we were booked and could not wait to start planning for the wedding film.

The Civil wedding was all held at the stunning Hitchin Priory in Hertfordshire; and we started in the morning for the bridal preparation shots. Bride Clare was so welcoming and introduced us to the prep room of bridesmaids, mums and flowergirls busy getting ready. From here the film began! Before we knew it, BJ and the groomsmen arrived and the ceremony time was upon us.

A highlight for us was certainly witnessing Clare’s father seeing his daughter for the ‘First Look’ as she was all ready just prior the ceremony. These moments, really are amazing on film, but witnessing them in real life, truly is heart warming.

We enjoyed filming some fabulous shots of Clare and BJ, during their photo session, around the grounds of the Hitchin Priory and even into the town centre! These two certainly make the screen come alive with Clare’s natural true beauty and BJ’s handsome looks. They are very much in love, so this made our job really easy! smile We could of filmed them all day long!

A quick mention to our friends the Piano DJ, who simply created a fabulous vibe with Tim playing the piano and the DJs in the evening setting the tone for the party.

We wish Clare & BJ and their lovely family all the very best for the future and thank them again for inviting us to attend their very special occasion!xx

Spring time wedding dreams for Holly & Andrew at Hanbury Manor

22 August 2018
Filmed at: Hanbury Manor

What an amazing wedding! We have been delighted to be a part of Holly & Andrew’s special occasion. A beautiful couple with a really fun loving and relaxed approach made filming their special day at Hanbury Manor’s Garden Court fantastic and memorable.

When newlyweds Holly & Andrew met with us at the studio for their pre-wedding video meeting, which we organise usually the month prior the wedding date, they were really on top of the planning and included some lovely moments for us to capture. A key moment for us was filming the couple during their couple photograph session with fabulous husband and wife team Lisa and Ady from Lilybean Photography. This is always a nice moment to capture some candid natural moments of the couple together on their wedding day.

A very special moment for us and also all the guests was seeing Holly & Andrew’s dog Teddy walk down the aisle too. We even set a special ‘Teddy camera’ on the registrar table to capture this! smile

Its been a pleasure capturing the special moments for Holly & Andrew and getting to know them too. We hope that their special day remains with them forever on film xx

Happiness and love at Fanhams Hall for Katie & Adam

13 August 2018
Filmed at: Fanhams Hall

What a truly fabulous occasion that newlyweds Katie and Adam invited us to! And we nearly missed it too! Let us explain. Sovp received a call from bride Katie only a week before the big day, yes thats correct, just a week before the wedding and luckily we were available and could not wait to get started and capture the memories for these two lovely people. It only goes to show, that if you decide to have your wedding filmed, even at the last minute, give Sovp a call and we can hopefully help!

The wedding ceremony happened outside the wonderful Japanese Tea House, decorated by the Dress it Yourself company and the Dearman Design Co at Fanhams Hall Hotel. The Tea House is situated in the beautiful vast gardens this venue has to offer and certainly sets the mood for a very romantic ceremony.

The Sovp team started early on in the bridal preparations suite where we met up with Bride Katie and her bridesmaids getting ready. This is always a lovely part to film and gives a real introduction to the day on film. Before long, Groom Adam and the guests were arriving and before we knew it, the I do’s were said, the Dove’s were released and the reception party was in full swing. During the reception, we managed to capture some candid shots of the photos being taken and also the guests having a drink or two.

A big shout out to DJ Barney from Party Events Unlimited too, as always, was a delight to work with and see again.

Spending the day with Katie and Adam and their gorgeous family was a delight and felt really natural and fun. We hope that their wedding film trailer serves as a lovely time capsule; of what was a truly special occasion!x

Your Wedding Film Story, Captured with Love...

We all love a good wedding. And lets face it, it is one of the most emotional days a person can experience. Whether you’re a guest, a family member or a supplier for the wedding couple, we all have a different story to tell about how they got there and tied the knot.

Special Occasion Videos meets with soon-to-be newlyweds sometimes years before their special day. Usually over a cup of tea in the studio, we discuss their plans of how their wedding day will be and what their wedding film will look like.

This is a lovely moment for us because on the day we mostly blend in so we can capture events naturally and allow the occasion to unfold.

Please read our stories of how we experienced our lovely wedding couples’ days…
