You really will not meet another couple like Kat & Des. They are wild! They are exactly what life is about. By this we mean, they live for the moment, fun loving, kind, sincere and above all two people very much in love.
We got the call to film their special occasion a week before the big day. After capturing weddings and events for nearly a decade, this was certainly a first for us and, to be honest, at first we were alittle stunned the wedding was coming up so soon when they called us up. But after a conversation with these lovely people on the phone, sure enough the wedding was happening and they wanted us to capture the occasion.
What a unique day it truly was too. The filming started at Kat’s fathers home and that was the setting for the entire day too. The vast garden had a festival feel tipi wedding marquee and the ceremony location by the creek at the end of the garden; was an idyllic location and exactly how groom Des described it on the phone to us.
Once the bridal prep was filmed soon enough the guests were arriving from all the corners of the world to celebrate the occasion with the newlyweds. A highlight for us was definitely the party as everyone was up dancing and partying the night away.
It was a pleasure to be invited to capture this very special occasion and we feel delighted to have been part of the day too. We wish both Kat and Des and their families all the very best in health, wealth and happiness in this new chapter!xView Video & Comments
Capturing the wedding of beautiful Christiana and Renaldo has been a delight.
We were invited along with their guests to Down Hall Country House Hotel which is on the border of Hertfordshire and Essex , and it was wonderful and Grand.
The filming for us started with the bridal prep and groom blessings, where we were met by the the bridal party and grooms family, at their parent home locations, all getting ready for the day ahead. Our style is always natural with a hint of cinematic effect for good measure. Renaldo’s family led a traditional groom blessing to send of the dashing groom into married life.
The Catholic wedding ceremony in Waltham Cross started at 12pm and once Renaldo and the guests soon arrived the day was unfolding perfectly. The ceremony was emotional and when Christiana walked down the ailse with her father I do not think there was a dry eye in the church.
Filming alongside ace wedding photographer Chris from Chris Douglas Photography was, as always, fun and easy. His classic wedding photography is a dream. We have seen his photos from the day too and they are truly amazing.
Love Light Entertainment were on hand to ensure the party was a success and in his usual style the lightshow and sound wowed the crowd and the dancefloor was in constant use and the guests and newlyweds celebrated the night away!
It has been a pleasure being a part of such a special occasion. We hope that the memories captured on film on the day will serve a lifetime of fondness and smiles! xxView Video & Comments
We are not really sure where to begin with this one! What a fabulous occasion the wedding of Stephanie and Joe truly was. These newlyweds are such lovely people and made the day easy for us. Their families and friends were so welcoming too and the wedding venue Colville Hall in Chelmsford was beautiful!
But lets start at the beginning. Bride Steph had contacted us many months before the wedding, to see if we could film her special day and thankfully we were available. Soon enough we had a arranged a pre-wedding video meeting here at the Aston studio. It was lovely to meet the couple in person and their fun loving and caring nature was evident from the start. After discussing their day plans it was clear that the wedding was going to be beautiful and it really was a day we were looking forward to.
The day for us actually started at Down Hall Country House Hotel. This was where the couple were getting ready so we covered shots of the bridal prep and some shorter highlights of the groom prep too. It was then off to the wedding day location Colville Hall and having never been here before, it was certainly a film makers treat. This family home estate was simply stunning and had all the character needed for a romantic wedding film. If you are looking for a barn style wedding with all the trimmings then I would suggest checking out this hidden gem!
Not before long, the guests were arriving, the couple said ‘I do’ and the party was in full flow. It was lovely to work along side White Stag photography. This husband and wife team were easy going and made capturing the day even more fun too. The party was managed by our friends at SPJ Discos and it was a great party too with great lighting and music.
A highlight for us was the couple photo session with that dreamy sunset. It was a good laugh too chatting to the couple inbetween and laughing away whislt we captured some lovely moments of these gorgeous people.
We wish both Steph and Joe and their families all the very best for the future; and thank them for inviting us along to capture the memories for them!xView Video & Comments
The adventure certainly began for Caroline & Dean on their amazing wedding day. It was a real pleasure to be there on the special day too to capture the memories.
Sadly we were unable to meet with these lovely newlyweds prior the special day. So the first time we met was on the big day itself. It honestly felt like we had been friends for ages and we were simply capturing the day for them and being part of the day as guests too. The atmosphere was fun loving and was filled with support from all the guests.
The wedding day for us started with the bridal party shots at Caroline & Dean’s gorgeous home which they had just developed themselves! No wonder it was tricky to meet before the wedding right?! The prep is always a great way to start the day and the girls were all so lovely, welcoming and friendly too! Before we knew it, the church wedding was complete and the knot had been tied. It was now time to celebrate at Hunton Park in Watford for the reception. Rain or shine, the party was fabulous and with some emotional speeches, grand location and a loving atmosphere; this wedding was awesome and had all the ingredience for a great film too.
Our friends at Disco Services UK were on hand for the DJ entertainment and Ray kept the dance floor packed and fun all night too.
Its been such a pleasure to be part of this special occasion. We truly hope that Caroline and Dean enjoy reliving their day and also that their beautiful young family get to see and remember the magic of it all too as the years go by!xView Video & Comments
It feels strange to think that Gemma & Rhys’ wedding day was probably the hottest day of the year! But thats because its now a cold autumn day and as we complete their wedding edit here in the studio and look back at their wedding day memories, the gorgeous weather simply takes us back.
For us it was a particular special occasion too as it was Martin’s birthday too (Creative director of SOVP). And what a fabulous occasion it truly was too and to be part of!
Gemma & Rhys met with us at the studio in Aston Village approx 8 weeks before their big day for a pre-wedding video meeting and they were such easy going and fun loving people. Over a cuppa we discussed the wedding plans ahead and learnt more about them and their wishes for the film. The wedding was all filmed at Down Hall, which is such a grand place and perfect for such an event. SOVP are no strangers to Down Hall Weddings and its always a pleasure to return time and time again.
It was sadly after the wedding, Gemma had some very sad news to tell us that her grandfather had passed away shortly after the wedding. Of course, we are fully aware that capturing memories on such a special day in a families life is also to ensure those loved ones present on the day can be filmed and remembered for years to come. However we recalled that Gemma’s grandfather did a reading during the marriage ceremony; and very well done too. In memory of this lovely man, we decided to include the entire reading in their highlights trailer. The words are very inspirational, lovingly read and told with such wisdom too.
It has been a pleasure capturing the memories for Gemma & Rhys. Their wedding was amazing; and so we hope the film gives them a taste and a lasting memory of their special occasion for many happy years to come!xView Video & Comments
We all love a good wedding. And lets face it, it is one of the most emotional days a person can experience. Whether you’re a guest, a family member or a supplier for the wedding couple, we all have a different story to tell about how they got there and tied the knot.
Special Occasion Videos meets with soon-to-be newlyweds sometimes years before their special day. Usually over a cup of tea in the studio, we discuss their plans of how their wedding day will be and what their wedding film will look like.
This is a lovely moment for us because on the day we mostly blend in so we can capture events naturally and allow the occasion to unfold.
Please read our stories of how we experienced our lovely wedding couples’ days…
